Croydon Memorial Pool has been forced to reduce its hours two weeks in a row as Covid-19 throws a curveball to many industries.

Due to an industry wide shortage of qualified pool staff including lifeguards, the local facility has cut its hours in half to cater for the loss of staff.

Adding to the impact is the state wide shortage of staff who are currently in isolation for seven days while they recover from Covid-19.

Maroondah City Council have been posting updates to social media outlining the new times.

The pool will now open according to the below.

– Wednesday 12 January from 6am to 10am

– Thursday 13 January from 6am to 10am

– Friday 14 January from 6am to 10am

– Saturday 15 January from 7am to 11am

– Sunday 16 January from 7am to 11am

– Monday 17 January from 6am to 10am

Other Maroondah Council run pools including Aquanation and Aquahub are operating at capacity.

“We sincerely thank you for your understanding during this challenging time,” Maroondah Council’s post read.
