Vic Emergency advises thunderstorm threat is reduced

Vic Emergency has announced that the severe thunderstorm warning for Greater Melbourne this morning is cancelled, with the threat considered reduced as of 9.34am. This followed the Watch and Act message issued at 8.21am

Vic Emergency advises residents to:

Check your property for damage

Keep clear of damaged buildings, power lines and trees.

Drivers in Lilydale should remain wary and make sure they are:

Aware of road hazards including fallen trees, floodwater and debris on the road.

Driving slowly and obeying all road signs.

A minor incident occurred on Maroondah Highway in Lilydale which has been deemed under control as of 11:33am, after two vehicles responded to the scene.

A request for assistance as a result of flooding in Coldstream as of 10:02am has also been issued.

The next update is expected by 12:40 pm on 27 January or as the situation changes.
