The last of the cricket finals before teams battle it out in the grand final will be getting underway this weekend and a number of local teams are preparing to take the pitch.
In the Lindsay Trollope Shield, the Lilydale 1XI team will play in the preliminary final against Norwood after being beaten by North Ringwood in the qualifying round.
Kilsyth 1XI has already qualified for the grand final in the Stuart Newey Plate and will be watching intently to see who makes it through between South Warrandyte and Seville.
Ainslie Park 2XI will face off against Yarra Junction 1XI in the preliminaries for the Steve Pascoe Shield in the hopes of making it to the grand final where they will compete for the title against the Montrose 2XI team.
Kilsyth 2XI has made it through to the grand final in the Pat Meehan Shield while Chirnside Park 2XI will also be waiting to see who they come up against in the Ian Spencer Shield.
There could be a few friendly rivalries should neighbouring clubs take to the field in the grand finals on Saturday 19 March.
Teams in the other divisions will play in the grand finals this weekend, with Montrose, Kilsyth, Lilydale, Mooroolbark and Mount Evelyn all having teams represented on field.
