Cyclist taken to hospital after coming off bike in Mount Evelyn

Traffic was reduced to one lane on Swansea Road, heading towards the York Road roundabout last night after cyclist was seen laying on the footpath unresponsive.

The incident occurred around 5.30pm on Wednesday 2 November. Witnesses said cars began pulling over when they saw the man on the path.

Police and paramedics were on scene assessing the patient who had been covered in a blanket and positioned on the footpath outside Chateau Wyuna.

“A man has been taken to the Royal Melbourne Hospital in a stable condition. His injuries are non-life threatening,” an Ambulance Victoria spokesperson said.
