Firefighters and paramedics have responded to an aircraft crash in Coldstream after a pilot was forced to make an emergency landing.

Star Mail understands the pilot’s engine cut out and he needed to land wherever possible near Killara Road around midday on 21 December.

Three CFA crews from Coldstream, Wandin and Gruyere brigades attended alongside Ambulance Victoria paramedics.

“A single seater aircraft has landed in a field and damaged the undercarriage of the plane,” a CFA spokesperson said.

“Crews confirmed the pilot safely disembarked the aircraft as at 12.22pm. The scene was under control at 12.32pm.”

Ambulance Victoria confirmed paramedics were called around 12.05pm and were assessing one person at the scene.

The incident has now been handed over to Victoria Police.
