A man’s body was located early on Tuesday morning believed to be a missing elderly resident from Kilsyth.

In a statement issued on Tuesday 9 April, police confirmed the man was yet to be identified but was believed to be 85-year-old Eric who went missing the day before.

The Bainbridge Court resident was last seen at his home around 6.30am on Monday 8 April.

Eric’s dog, which was believed to be with him, was handed into a vet in Kilsyth about 5.45pm on Monday.

Due to his welfare and disappearance being out of character, local police with the assistance of SES and Air Wing searched the Kilsyth and surrounding areas throughout the evening.

“Officers discovered the deceased man on the Carrum to Warburton Trail about 8.15am,” Victoria Police said.

“The death is not being treated as suspicious.”
