Yarra Ranges residents still have plenty of opportunities to have their say on the next council plan.
There are many different ways for the community to let the council know what they value most and what the council should focus its attention on, now and into the future.
Whether you have 5 minutes spare, or days spare, there’s a way for everyone to have their say and help shape YRC’s direction over the next four years.
Community members can:
Complete the 5-10 minute online survey
Come and chat to us in-person at any of our upcoming pop-ups
Register your interest in attending our one-day Community Summit
Register your interest to be a part of our Community Panel
So far Council has been out to Mt Evelyn, Healesville, Yarra Junction, Montrose, Belgrave and Kilsyth over the past two weeks to chat to residents in person, with the following pop-up locations also scheduled:
Wednesday 24 April, Mooroolbark Library, Station Street, 10am-2pm
Friday 3 May, Chirnside Park Shopping Centre, Times TBA
Sunday 5 May, Kalorama Chestnut Festival, Kalorama Memorial Reserve 10am-4pm
The community summit is a two-hour event from 6pm-8pm on Wednesday 22 May, where up to 100 community members will have the ability to take part in workshops to discuss and share ideas about our future.
The community panel requires a commitment of 3.5 days to discuss and debate with fellow residents on the council’s priorities and the challenges that we face moving forward.
The panel will be made up of 30 to 40 people, selected from everyone who registers, who reflect the diversity of the Yarra Ranges community.
No expert knowledge is required, just a willingness to learn from others and have an open mind to finding solutions together.
These sessions will be held on Saturdays in Lilydale, with more information found at shaping.yarraranges.vic.gov.au/yarra-ranges-shape-your-future/community-panel-deliberative-engagement
