Search continues for missing Croydon man Mark

Police are searching Big River State Forrest as part of the ongoing investigation into the disappearance of Croydon man Mark.

The 62-year-old was last seen at Frenchman’s Creek campground off Big River Road in Eildon about 8.30am on Sunday, 17 August.

He spoke to another camper about 10.30pm on Saturday night, and said he was intending to walk to Woods Point the next morning.

Police and family have serious concerns for Mark’s welfare due to the amount of time he has been missing.

Investigators are also concerned given the cold weather in the area, and because Mark was not in possession of any camping gear at the time.

Today, 19 August, local uniform members will be assisted by the Mounted Branch, the Dog Squad, Solo Unit, Search and Rescue units, SES volunteers and the Wilderness Paramedics.

Mark is described as being Caucasian in appearance, and is approximately 183cm tall with a medium build, short grey hair, a grey beard and moustache.

He was last seen wearing a light grey and dark blue jumper, white tracksuit pants, a blue zip up jacket and black sneakers.

Mark was also seen to be in possession of a large duffel bag.

An image of Mark has been released in the hope it will assist in locating him.

Anyone who sights Mark or encountered him within the Big River State Forrest is urged to contact Triple Zero (000) or anyone with information is urged to call Marysville Police Station on (03) 5963 3222.
