Yarra Ranges teen arrested after police chase ended in CBD

A cross-suburb police chase has ended in the CBD on 29 September after four teenage males were arrested.

The group of teens from the Yarra Ranges and Bendigo areas had stolen a BMW from the Boroondara area yesterday before police observed them driving erratically on the Eastern Freeway in Doncaster about 12.30pm.

The BMW was dumped a short time later on Bourke Street Mall and the four occupants fled on foot through Myer and into the Emporium.

They were arrested a short time later outside a shopping centre on Lonsdale Street and weren’t in possession of any weapons.

The vehicle was followed into the CBD where a pedestrian was struck on Exhibition Street.

The female has been transported to hospital for observation with no life-threatening injuries.

Two 17-year-olds, a 15-year-old and a 16-year-old from the Bendigo and Yarra Ranges areas are currently being interviewed.
