CFA encourages residents to conduct ‘After Action Review’

The Seville CFA has encouraged locals to conduct an After Action Review (AAR) after a close call with a bushfire on Friday 9 January.

An AAR is an opportunity to reflect, revise and improve upon one’s fire safety plan to ensure it’s up to date with current risk factors.

The fire in Seville could’ve been catastrophic for the entire Yarra Ranges region had CFA crews been unavailable at the time, making it a salient reminder to ensure your family is ready.

“The fire in Seville East really brought it home to many locals, the need to have a good fire plan. Remember your plans are always up for review,” the Seville CFA said in a Facebook post.

“We learn with experience. Take the time now before the next heat spike to reflect on your plan and conduct your own AAR. Look for what worked well for you and where you think your plan could be better. Summer is not over and these fires will continue to burn. Make the most of the cooler conditions to fine tune your plans and prepare your property.”
