Yarra Ranges Council has been alerted to a potential phone scam where an unknown caller has been posing as a Council officer and asking for personal information.
Council is alerting residents to the calls, saying this caller is not a member of staff and please be wary about sharing any information over the phone.
Council said it will never ask residents to share personal financial information over the phone.
