Manchester Road in Mooroolbark is set to be reopened next week.
Having been closed while the train lines were removed, commuters will be able to travel through the level crossing between Brice Avenue and Winyard Drive from Wednesday 10 November.
Until then, detours remain in place, with drivers encouraged to use Hull Road, Mooroolbark Road, Maroondah Highway, Manchester Road, Bellara Drive, Dorset Road and Lincoln Road.
Buses will continue replacing trains on the Lilydale Line between Ringwood and Lilydale until Tuesday 16 November, before the stations are meant to be reopened to the public on 17 November.
