Mooroolbark Community Garden prepares to launch

The Mooroolbark Community Garden is preparing to open on Saturday 2 September.

Having held working bees throughout last week to get all 12 garden beds in place, it was a great sign of community effort and achievement.

Holding the event from 10am to 4pm, the group hopes the grand opening will be something for the entire community to enjoy.

On the day there will be some planting and a polytunnel install to get involved in, a sausage sizzle fundraiser, plant sales and raffles.

Also hear from local band Duplicity Live from 2pm to 4pm.

Mooroolbark Community Garden was awarded the former temporary car park land at the corner of Charles and Station Streets by Yarra Ranges Council earlier this year, with this launch being the first stage of the design process.
