As part of Operation Amity, police were out at a random breath testing site on Swansea Road when a 55-year-old woman was waved in for testing on Monday afternoon, 26 January.
She underwent a preliminary breath test, returning a positive result.
The woman from Montrose then underwent an evidentiary breath test, which returned an alleged reading of .201, just over four times the legal limit.
The woman also had a 0.00 licence condition, meaning she must have zero alcohol in her system while driving.
Her licence was immediately suspended for 30 days, and her vehicle was impounded for $1060.
She will be charged on summons.
