Mustangs launch netball for 2026 season

The Mooroolbark Mustangs have announced that netball will be added to the fixture for 2026, with multiple teams registered for the upcoming season.

Mooroolbark Football Club shared on Thursday 15 January that it would be joining the Eastern Football Netball League’s netball competition for 2026.

“It is an exciting new chapter for the club and one that has been a long time coming,” the club’s statement reads.

“As one of only six EFNL football clubs without a netball program, our arrival into the competition feels overdue, and we could not be more proud to finally take this step forward.”

The EFNL netball competition spans 15 divisions across the outer east.

Mooroolbark has confirmed that it will begin the season with three registered teams, taking on the names Mooroolbark Gold, Mooroolbark Green, and Mooroolbark Black.

The Mustangs’ netball sides have been slotted into Divisions 5, 10 and 15.

A dedicated Instagram page, @mooroolbarknetball, has been established to “be the home of everything netball”, with team announcements, game day action, behind-the-scenes moments, and social events to be posted here, but the main channels will post major updates and milestones.

“Whether you are pulling on the dress, cheering from the sidelines, supporting a teammate or simply excited to be part of something fresh, this is your invitation to jump on board.

“Netball is coming to Mooroolbark in 2026, and the future is looking brighter than ever for the Mustangs community.”
